Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day because I usually wake up very hungry. I especially love eating eggs and any type of sweet pastry. Lately I've been hitting up Alana's Cafe on Sunday mornings. Alana's is located on this property and you can chose to dine inside a cute Victorian house or on the patio, which I prefer because the view is so pretty.
I did not get any photos of the Victorian house because there were too many people in the way, but you get the idea of how awesome this place is and how delicious the food is. The coffee cake is especially good and warm when you order it.

Hello blogging world! It's been a minute, but I'm back in action. My lack of blogging is due to a car accident I was recently in and not having internet for a good two weeks. I recuperated pretty quickly from the accident and only suffered a bruised hand and chin when the air bag went off. Air bags are kinda dangerous, my chin got burnt a bit!

Life has been good to me these past few weeks minus the accident. I've been to a few shows recently, my most favorite being Souls of Mischief and Mos Def. I have tons of photos and footage and I will have to share them with you as soon as I upload them all. Halloween was spent watching Ghost Hunters with my love, sadly I never got a chance to carry out my costume idea but there is always next year.
I've also been inspired to make headbands after a trip to Urban Outfitters and I stocked up on supplies a few days ago. I'm going to start on this little project soon and create a post on how to make them. They'll be lots of ribbon, feathers and denim in these creations, just the perfect accessory for all the upcoming holiday parties.
I guess you can say I am pretentious when it comes to film. Well, I am pretentious about music as well, but that's another story. I don't watch a film just because it's on and I don't watch films that are #1 at the box office such as those by Michael Bay or Saw I-6. I'm not into crazy special effects or super hero films either.
I haven't watched any of the Transformers or Spiderman films and I don't really want to. Well, I did watch the Dark Knight but I'm pretty sure it was because Heath Ledger is in it and I think he was a good actor. Btw, I thought the film was horrid.
I will never watch a chick flick either. Films with such titles as The Devil Wears Prada and Sleepless in Seattle, actually any film with Meg Ryan is a turn off. You're probably thinking that I am a hater and in many ways I'm not, but when it comes to film I'm certainly one.
Honestly, I don't like to spend precious time watching a film that is a complete waste of time to me. I'd rather draw a picture or flip through old issues of Harper's Bazaar.
I'm not a fan of "scary" films either, snooze. Sincerely, there are just a few things that scare me and monsters is not one of them. There are two films though that have definitely given me the chills and they are The Others and The Blair Witch Project.
I thoroughly enjoyed The Others because of the way it looks and because it's a time piece. I'm a sucker for anything old looking so for that fact alone I was intrigued to watch it. The fact that the children saw ghosts, but their mother (Nicole Kidman) did not was also spooky because there is that saying that kids never lie! The large mansion where they lived also had an eerie and dark element to it and if I was a child I would feel uneasy about living there for sure. The thick fog that accumulated outside of their property is also a bit bloodcurdling!
The Blair Witch Project was also a bit unsettling because of the way it looks. This has to do with the fact that it was shot to appear like a documentary and also because it looked very minimal it was definitely scary. From the beginning when the lettering appears saying that the footage you're about to watch was found, but the people who shot it was not, you start to feel a bit confused and unnerving. I remember thinking about all the news stories I'd heard over the years of hikers and campers gone missing and never found. I related that to what I was watching and it became very scary. Because it looked so real you believe that it is for an hour or two, however long the film was and you really start feeling for the actors and all the frightening and mysterious things that are suddenly happening to them. So when I heard about the film Paranormal Activity I knew I wanted to watch it because of the way it looked.
Luckily I was not disappointed. Paranormal Activity was very creepy and I don't even believe in ghosts! The film is basically about a man who purchases a camera because he wants to record all the happenings that his girlfriend claims that she has been experiencing ever since she was eight years old. Throughout the film he follows her all over their house with the camera and even sets it up in their bedroom and when 2:30 am or so hits strange and spine-chilling things start happening. The fun really starts to unravel when the idiot boyfriend buys a Ouija Board.
The film can drag a bit, but I kinda liked that because it made it a lot more real. It would have been too forced if they only showed the juicy parts! As you watch it you also start to feel sorry for the girl because the "demons" won't leave her alone and her boyfriend is a total jerk for instigating them.
I'll stop now because I don't want to give it all away, but all I can say is that I was spooked while watching this! Oh and in case you are wondering, the films that I do care to watch anytime are film noir and foreign films such as those made in Mexico and Korea, Tartan films wutttttt!
My weekend was dope, I did some record shopping. There's a spot in my town that has super sales a few times a year and all the records are $1, yippee!
I did pretty good as you can see and I even got Lost In Translation for $2! My favorite acquisition was Magical Mystery Tour for sure. I was worried it wouldn't play, but it runs perfectly well in my record player.

I can't get enough of my denim shorts, I think it's because I don't have too many short skirts. I'm wearing a black top with sequins at the top and bell sleeves and a short sleeved cardigan with tassels that I got for $3 at the thrift store. I was inspired to wear my leopard tights ever since I saw a woman at Starbucks the other day wearing some, sometimes I forget I have certain things in my wardrobe. The boots I'm wearing also seem to be attached to my feet, I've been wearing those suckers on a regular basis and the bag I'm sporting is the black fringe one I bought when I got my Chanel shoes.
Maybe tomorrow I won't forget to take an outfit photo!

When one thinks about California sunshine and palm trees come to mind. Both exist in this beautiful state, but when the fall starts to roll the icy Arctic winds hit the Bay with fierce. The weather has been kinda bipolar, sunny and hot during the day and windy and chilly during the evening. I find myself changing twice a day to adjust to this nonsense weather and boots and comfy stylish coats are usually what I consider when dressing up for the night.
I came to the conclusion that I won't be able to afford the $200 pair of Jeffrey Campbell boots I've been lusting over for the past month, but these by Forever 21 are equally as cool and totally inexpensive...
I've also been craving a leopard print faux fur jacket. This one by Express has a fair price tag and it looks so warm and fierce I must have it...
Curling up with a book and pilling on the blankets is also extremely appealing right about now. I've seriously been thinking about exploring historic preservation, so I placed an order last night for these two books that offer an introduction to the subject.
I probably won't become a couch potato or anything like that because I can't stay at home for long periods of time without loosing my head, but fall and winter are definitely the seasons to relax.
My Little Pony, the cutest, sweetest toy aside from the tiny Polly Pockets that have probably been discontinued because little children have swallowed too many of them. I love these little magical horse figures, their colorful bodies, cool body art, giant glittery eyes, and long hair! I loved brushing their manes and styling it into different hairdos such as braids and pony tails. The coolest ones have the rainbow hair and wings in my opinion.
So what to dress up as this Halloween? In the past I've been a Christmas tree (won an award for that at my middle school), a palm tree (monkeys and coconuts hanging from the branches included), Morticia, the devil, a ratty haired witch, Lucille Ball, Betsey Johnson and even the most loved character of cholas: Tweety Bird. I have two ideas that I dare not post on this blog because they are just too original and maybe next year I will execute them, but this year I've decided to be My Little Pony for Halloween.
The idea came to me last week at the Folsom Street Fair (leather fetish, gay, outdoor party in SF) where I saw a young man dressed up as a unicorn. I really want to wear glittery wings and unicorns don't have wings, so My Little Pony is the better choice. I've purchased a pink and lavender boa that I will use as a tail, a pair of children's small pink sparkly wings, a purple long wig and all I need is a cute little dress and tights in a pretty shade of pink to complete this ensemble. I've got plenty of bright glittery makeup so I'm good with that and all I need to do is construct a pair of pony ears. This Halloween is going to kick ass and I don't even know what I'm doing to celebrate!
